Understand what comes next
Read the solutions, review your result and return to the ideas that need another look.
Start with an idea.
Let T be a linear operator on a real vector space with T² = T. Which values can its eigenvalues take?
See the reasoning
If Tv = λv for v ≠ 0, then T²v = λ²v. Since T² = T, we get λ²v = λv, so λ(λ − 1) = 0.
MATHEMATICS, THOUGHTFULLY.
